I am from the lovely and often cold state of Minnesota. I have two incredibly amazing children and a wonderful husband who are all the center of my world.  I have wanted to help others learn for as long as I can remember.  I remember being  8 years old and creating worksheets for my sister, who was only two at the time. I started my career in the early childhood education field and love creating classroom environments along with curriculum.

I’ve long held an interest in designing engaging and authentic learning for my students. Changes in my family’s life have allowed me to pivot and pursue my Masters of Science degree in Instructional Design. I look forward to working with you and making student focused learning our priority.

What I believe as a designer...

Student focused learning: A student’s prior knowledge impacts how they will construct their knowledge from new ideas and experiences they have.  I think it is incredibly important for learners to have an active role in their instruction and learning.

Authentic learning experiences: I strive for creating engaging and relevant content to drive all the learning experiences I create.  I am focused on how to making authentic experiences happen and allowing for personalization, for each student, to allow them to find meaning in their learning.

Differentiated learning: I know learning will look different for each learner. Each student brings their own unique perspective and prior learning experiences with them. Being able to provide coaching and scaffolding for students in areas they need extra encouragement is a passion of mine.
